Our team was tasked with designing a Tailings Storage Facility for a large-scale iron ore operation in Nigeria. With increasing environmental scrutiny and the need for operational efficiency, the project demanded a solution that balanced safety, capacity, and sustainability.
We began with a full geotechnical and hydrological investigation of the site, followed by dam design using advanced slope stability and seepage modeling. The facility included decant structures, spillways, and a remote monitoring system for real-time water level and structural health checks.
To ensure environmental compliance, we incorporated a seepage control system with HDPE liners and conducted regular water quality assessments. The result was a TSF that not only met international safety standards but also minimized ecological impact and maintained the confidence of local communities and regulatory bodies.
The success of this project demonstrates our ability to deliver critical infrastructure that supports both mining productivity and environmental responsibility.
